Autopsy Released in Clay County Homicide

PIERRE, SD (ABC9 NEWS)- Authorities in South Dakota have released the autopsy report for a 29-year-old Sioux City woman who was found dead at a rural Clay County recreation area earlier this month. 

According to the report, Alicia Hummel death was caused by drowning with contributing circumstances of blunt force injuries to her head and a wound on her neck. Toxicology reports showed that Hummel was not under the influence of alcohol or any controlled substances at the time of her death. 

Hummel’s body was found on the afternoon of June 1st near the boat dock at Myron Grove, also known as the Highline Area of Clay County. Authorities are still seeking the public’s help with any information related to the crime, and would still like to speak with anyone who may have been in the area around the time of her death.
