It’s a new home in Sioux City, but with the same amazing offerings for a group of local artists.
The recent sale of the Benson Building left 14 artists without a space to work.
Thanks to some help from folks at HCI Real Estate the group has a new home in the Ho-Chunk Centre.
What was formally a clinic has been converted into a large work studio.
Local artist Brian Damon said that even though space is smaller, it brings a stronger sense of community to the group.
“What it is, is even though we were an artist community in a sense, in the Benson Building, we were somewhat disjointed and our contact with each other was limited,” said Damon.
The artists said that another advantage is that space provides a gallery near the atrium so more people can see their works.
