Denison kids of Amber Alert found near Des Moines

Amber Alert has been canceled

DENISON, Iowa - UPDATE: Two area kids were the subject of a now-cancelled amber alert earlier Monday afternoon.

Police in Denison, Iowa issued the alert for 12-year-old Beyonce Carrasco and 13-year-old Rodolfo Penaflor Jr.

Authorities say the two kids, described as girlfriend and boyfriend, took off in the car belonging to Carrasco's mother.

The alert was cancelled about an hour after it was issued, when the kids were apparently found safe all the way in Des Moines.

An Amber Alert has been cancelled after police found her and her alleged abductor safe.

The Iowa DOT say that the Amber Alert has been cancelled. Both were found after a traffic stop in the Des Moines area.

PREVIOUS: Police are looking for two children, one of whom may have been abducted.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Beyonce Carrasco, 12, was taken by Rodolfo Penaflor Jr., 13. Both are from Denison. 

Carrasco was last seen wearing a dark gray Monarch shirt with gray Underarmour shorts. Penaflor Jr. is a white male with black hair. The car they are in is a 2016 White Nissan Sentra with the license plate of EYB982.
