The music world is morning the loss of English rock and roll star David Bowie. The 69-year-old passed away Sunday night after a private 18-month battle with cancer.
His flamboyant image was a driving force in pop culture for nearly 50 years, pioneering glam rock and earning him two Grammys, an Emmy, and selling 140 million records. His 28th and most recent album was just released last week. Bowie also starred in movies? Like “The Hunger” and “The Man Who Fell to Earth”
He was a renaissance man, a superstar, and I truly believe that David Bowie’s death will be on a par with J.F.K’s, with Elvis’s as well as other legends,” said one industry leader.
Bowie just turned 69 last Friday. His last video for the song “Lazarus” shows him frail and laying in bed singing “look up here, I’m in heaven.”
