A Few Fantastic Days Ahead of Us

Local News

Today we’ll have mostly sunny skies and a pleasant high temperature of 46° – about 15° above normal!

Tonight with mostly clear conditions we’re looking for the temperature to drop to 20°. A slight chill is expected.

Tomorrow will be gorgeous with our first 50s of 2018! The high will be 53° in Sioux City with another healthy dose of sunshine incoming.

Saturday we’re looking for increasing clouds, but it’ll still be pretty warm with a high of 45°.

A big change-up comes on Sunday with a wintry weather system. It’ll be warm enough at first with a high of about 40° that rain will happen. However, as temperatures cool leading into Sunday evening we’ll have a switch to snow and those snow showers will likely persist into Monday morning. Accumulations remain difficult to pin down, but we have an early snowfall estimate of 2 to 4 inches. There’s the potential for more near Sioux Falls where temperatures will likely sink below the freezing mark sooner making for more snow vs. rain. We’ll fine-tune the amounts as this winter system gets closer, so make sure to stay tuned! The wind will certainly be an issue with gusts around 40 MPH so travel could make for difficult conditions.

We’ll have seasonal conditions next week with highs in the 20s and 30s.
