Sioux City hit 35° Wednesday, but our warming trend is only getting started!
While tonight’s low of 18 couldn’t be called warm, it’s a lot warmer than last night’s low of -4!
Bright sunshine and a high of 47 will be enjoyed Thursday, while Friday will bring 52.
The weekend will start off fairly warm, with 41 Saturday and 40 Sunday.
But a weather system will move in Sunday, bringing rain initially. As a cold front slips through, the rain will change to snow. The snow will continue into Monday morning before tapering off in the afternoon.
It’s still too early to give snow forecast projections since the track of this storm is unclear, and a small track change will completely change the snow potential. But for now, be aware that this could be a significant system, at least for a portion of Siouxland. That’s especially true since we know that winds will be strong, so you can expect blowing snow and potentially tough travel from roughly noon Sunday to noon Monday.
KCAU 9 will be tracking this system closely in the coming days, so please check in regularly for updates.
