Two people were arrested for theft and fleeing police on feet Thursday.

According to court documents, around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, a witness saw Amelia Roulliard, 24, of Sioux City, leaving Sears in Sioux City that they believed were stolen. She was picked up by Donald Whitebeaver, 22, of Sioux City. The witness followed the vehicle to Singing Hills.

As the vehicle turned to Walmart, an officer activated their lights. The vehicle then accelerated and pulled into the Billion GMC lot.

Both Whitebeaver and Roulliard left the vehicle and fled on foot. An officer was able to take Roulliard into custody, and Whitebeaver was found inside the AmericInn.

About $1,680 of stolen property from Sears with security tags still attached was found in the vehicle.

Whitebeaver and Roulliard were arrested and charged with second-degree theft and simple eluding. Whitebeaver was also charged with driving while suspended. Both are being held in the Woodbury County Jail on bonds of $5,000.
