Today is the 18th annual National Adoption Day and at the Woodbury County Courthouse 15 families just got a little bigger.
Every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, thousands of families across the nation finalize their adoptions and celebrate finding loving homes.
Although adoption is a long and often difficult process, many adoptive parents say its worth the effort to give a child a loving home.
“Kids didn’t necessarily do anything wrong or make any sort of decisions that have that have led them to their circumstances and every child deserves a family and loving home and I think too that family isn’t described by blood but its often described by your heart,” says adoptive parent Miranda Galvin.
National Adoption Day was founded to raise awareness of the hundreds of thousands of kids still waiting to be adopted.
