ALTA, Iowa (KCAU) – A motorcycle driver has died after being involved in a crash near Alta, Iowa Monday night.
The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office said they received a report of a crash near 570th Street and county road M-31 Monday around 6:10 p.m. The caller told authorities that a motorcycle hit an anhydrous tank being pulled by a truck.
They said that Lien Tejeda Lores, 29, of Storm Lake was driving the motorcycle, a 2008 Suzuki GSXR, north on M-31. Drivin the pickup with the anhydrous tank, Norman O’Bannon, 67, of Alta, had pull off from 570th Street and south on M-31. As the motorcycle hit the tank, Lores fell off and entered the east ditch.
Lores was pronounced dead at the scene. O’Bannon was not injured.
The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the crash. They said they believed speed to be the cause.
The Buena Vista Regional Medical Center, the Alta Fire Department and Alta First Responders assisted the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
