Latino youth summit draws 150 to South Sioux City

Dozens of students spent Friday in South Sioux City sharing stories and learning about the latino lifestyle.  Northeast Community College hosted its first ever Latino Youth Summit at it’s extended campus.  Around 150 juniors and seniors from actross siouxland listened to speakers and participated in panel discusssions to share each other’s stories.

“I feel like I want to be something since my parents did not get the opportunity to do something and their giving me the opportunity to be something big and do something since they did not get the opportunity to do that,” said Homer student Kireel Flores.  Flores hopes to one day become a police force officer.
