A Powerball lottery prize was bought in southeastern Iowa.
The Iowa lottery said that a $2 million ticket was bought at a Hy-Vee in Burlington, Iowa. The purchased ticket matched the first five balls of Saturday’s winning numbers of 1-2-3-7-39 but missed the Powerball of 25. While that would normally be a $1 million prize, with the addition of Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $2 million.
Saturday’s Jackpot was worth $223.6 million, but no one had a winning ticket. The $2 million ticket was the only one sold with the five correct numbers from Saturday’s drawing. The jackpot is expected to climb to 242, million.
The winner of the ticket will need to claim their prize at the Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive. For selling the ticket, the Hy-Vee will receive a $2,000 bonus.
