Christmas is over but not for holiday shoppers
The National Retail Federation says 58 percent of holiday shoppers plan to return or exchange something within a month after the holiday.
And retail stores are taking note of that.
“I’ve been seeing lots of sales lately too, sales on clothes sales on shoes.So.”
Stores like JC-Penny are offering huge cut prices.
“Some things were at least 50 to 70 percent off so good deal.”
For many stores, those are the lowest costs of the year. Retail experts say the slashed prices are used to attract shoppers who are in the store to return items and customers aren’t complaining.
“I think they’re pretty good for the most part yea. They always change and you’re always getting something cheaper usually. They also have a lot of options here,” says shoppers Samantha and Brandy Tate.
The general manager of the JC-Penny at South Park mall says bargains the day after Christmas could top those during black Friday but for certain items.
“Its cheap if you do find your size.”
Shoppers say there could be a downside to all the sales.
“The only thing tho is with shopping after Christmas is there is smaller selection so if you find something you like it might not be your size.”
Retail experts say days after Christmas is becoming just as busy as weeks leading up to the holiday.
“Its been busier than a normal day but less busy than Christmas was.”
According to the retail federation, shopping activity could lead up until the new year.
