A Kansas City Native, I learned to love Iowa from the first, very snowy, day I made the move. In Kansas City, we get an average of five inches of snow a year, so it was quite a difference for me when five inches of snow is just a normal January weekend!

After a lot of thought, I decided to attend college in my hometown of Leavenworth, Kansas, where my political science degree mostly consisted of bringing big topics down to the individual level to examine under the microscope of an undergraduate research paper.

Never short for words, I found my love is telling stories that relate to people. I love bringing the news to my community, and I’m excited to bring the news to the people of Siouxland.

Prior to working at KCAU, I served as local government reporter for The Hawk Eye in Burlington, Iowa, which will forever be the first home I chose. I won 3rd place in coverage of crime and court for my coverage of the Diavantae Davis Murder Trial.

When I’m not working or producing content for my own social media pages, I’m usually reading,  watching TV or analyzing something I read or watched with my friends.
