Weather is something that I have been passionate about since I was about 5 years old. I always knew I wanted to be a meteorologist. I particularly love forecasting winter weather, as I am from the small town of Coopersville, Michigan. I love all types of weather, but particularly winter weather is where I am most passionate about since I grew up near the lakeshore learning some different types of weather phenomena. I even gave weather forecasts for my school and snow day predictions as early as my freshman year of high school.

I graduated from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI in May of 2022 with a B.S., majoring in Meteorology and Geography, as well as minoring in Mathematics. I was the champion of both single and individual bowling leagues at CMU in 2019. I was also recognized for being the Resident of the Year for all of CMU in 2019. In the fall of 2019, I was in a brand-new Broadcast Meteorology course that made me even more passionate for the weather. The class was taught by Meteorologist Ahmad Bajjey, who is now a meteorologist for CBS News Detroit.

From January 2021 through the end of college in May 2022, I was involved in three things that I have loved more than anything in college. I was part of Chi Alpha, a Christian Fellowship group full of supportive friends. I had friends that would give me helpful feedback on my forecasting abilities. Secondly, I was then a Weather Forecaster of a social media group called Mid-Mitten Weather View where I was able to improve my forecasting abilities on social media. Finally, I was a weather forecaster for CMU’s News Station, News Central, and provided on-air forecasts for CMU. I also interned at WLNS-6 in Lansing, MI with Chief Meteorologist David Young and Meteorologist Kendall Wilson from May to July 2022. I also finished the top forecaster at CMU for my final three years of college in a competition called WxChallenge.

I started at KCAU 9 in August 2022 as the weekend, fill-in, and Digital Meteorologist and absolutely love it so far. I really enjoy being able to forecast for Siouxland as well as working with a fantastic group of colleagues.

I also am passionate about watching sports. College Basketball, Professional Hockey, and Professional/College Football are some of my favorites. I also like to participate in bowling leagues, go to bible studies and church, and listening to pop music. I especially like listening to Christmas music in November and December.  I look forward to continue delivering the most accurate forecast with the best weather team in Siouxland.
