Woodbury Central Claims WVC Crown

- LAWTON, Iowa (ABC9 Sports)--Woodbury Central claimed its fourth straight Western Valley Conference softball tournament crown with a 7-0 win over River Valley Thursday night.

Jade Peterson threw a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and one walk in the win.

Earlier in the day, the Wildcats edged past their rivals from Lawton-Bronson with two unearned runs in the bottom of the 7th for a 3-2 comeback victory.

River Valley earned their spot in the championship game with a 4-3 win over Ridge View in 12 innings. The game was the longest in WVC Tournament history.
