New toy aims to teach kids about diversity

Introducing the MyFamilyBuilder

ATLANTA, Ga. - Are you interested in teaching you child about diversity, but don't know how? Well there is a new toy for that!

They are called MyFamilyBuilder, and it is a new building block toy set allows children to create diverse families
and encourages them to explore the ways families can be different.

The play set features 48 different wooden pieces, including heads, torsos and feet, that snap together.

The company founder, Ed Karpf, created a Kickstarter campaign to get funding for the project. Karpf says he was motivated to create the set after trying to buy toys for a friend's daughter that resembled her multi-racial family.

Kids can form 2,000 combinations of families using the pieces!

The set also includes cards with educational games teaching children about different types of families.

The MyFamilyBuilder retails for $110.
