Wet weekend ahead with temperatures staying pleasant

Some places may see up to 2 inches of rain by the end of the weekend

MAY 17, 2018 - Warmer temperatures are here to stay in Siouxland.

Tonight we are expecting more clear conditions, as we will also stay on the warmer side of things.

Friday partly cloudy skies will take over, with building cloud coverage by the afternoon.  Some places may also see an isolated evening shower or thunderstorm, but the storms will be sparse.

Saturday, we have the chance to see a few early morning showers and thunderstorms as a cold front will pass through.  This will drop high temperatures to the mid-70's for Saturday, with another chance to see some afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

There is a marginal chance for severe thunderstorms as we head to Sunday.  Most of the rain will fall in the morning and afternoon hours, and some models are showing 2+ inches of rain by the end of the weekend for some isolated areas. Temperatures will also remain in the mid-60's before we see things warm up for the week again.

We will gradually warm up during the beginning of next week, with 80's expected by Wednesday again.

There is also another decent chance we could see some showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, but we remain warm.
