Teen charged in weekend fire that destroyed bridge made famous in "Bridges of Madison County"

The blaze marks the second time the historic bridge has been torched

MADISON COUNTY, Iowa - A teen has been arrested and charged with setting fire to an iconic Iowa bridge.

The teen is accused of burning down the Cedar Covered Bridge which was made notable by the book and movie titled "The Bridges of Madison County."

The alleged arsonist is identified as Alexander Hoff, 17, of West Des Moines.

Few other details are being released, but authorities aren't ruling out additional arrests stemming from the weekend fire in South-Central Iowa.

Oprah Winfrey and President Obama have both walked across the Cedar Covered Bridge since it was built in 2002.

Authorities say they used a lot of technical evidence to confirm that Hoff was their suspect. County supervisors say they'd like to rebuild with the caveat of extra security added in.
