Sioux City Symphony names Travis Morgan as first CEO in 102-year history

Morgan is a former casino marketing executive and KCAU 9 sports director

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Former KCAU 9 sports director - and more recently casino pitchman - is now taking on duties with the Sioux City Symphony.

Travis Morgan introduced Friday by the symphony's board as its first chief executive in the orchestra's 102 year history.

Officials say they decided on Morgan for the newly-created position because of his extensive marketing experience and strong community connections.

Morgan says he was hooked after his first visit to the symphony years ago.

"I came here for the first time kicking and screaming. My wife dragged me here. And four minutes in I was just blown away. The hair on the back of my neck and arms just stood up, says Sioux City Symphony CEO Travis Morgan."

Morgan had been serving as marketing director for WinnaVegas.
