Sioux City live music venue reopens under new name

The Marquee replaces what once was the Chesterfield

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - A new music venue is opening it's doors along Sioux City's historic fourth street. The Marquee is celebrating its' grand opening Friday night.

It replaces the former Chesterfield which abruptly closed it's doors last year to the surprise of many in the local music community.

The owner of the Marquee says he took over the space and renovated it because he wanted to fill the void created by the Chesterfield's demise.

"It's very inviting and welcoming in here. We did a complete remodel from the previous business. It's just a whole new atmosphere," says Mitch Martin, Marquee owner.

The Marquee will host live music of all genres and has increased the capacity of the venue by about 50 people.
