Northeast Nebraska house demolished in flames

Hoskins Firefighters train while making way for neighborhood update

HOSKINS, NE - A Northeast Nebraska house goes up in flames -- the heavy smoke drawing onlookers to watch it burn.

But this old home in Hoskins at 107 South Spencer Street was deliberately set on fire this afternoon.

The village condemned the home and wanted it demolished -- so firefighters decided to utilize it for a training exercise.

Firefighters in training were able to get some hands-on experience, while cleaning up the neighborhood at the same time.

Once the demolition of that house is completed, the village says a new duplex will be built on that property.
