Lions Club grant $22K to Siouxland agencies

14 organizations were given grants

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Members of the Sioux City Lions Club is helping out local agencies across Siouxland.

Charity grants were distributed for 14 agencies Monday. Those checks were all a minimum of $1000, and they totaled $22,000.

Members of the Lions Club say that they are excited to see what this does to help Sioux City.

"Well folks from the Siouxland community, we would be limited on the amount of people we could help and assist lif we didn't have these funds because we only have so much money, we allocate that throughout the year so we wouldn't be able to serve as many people as we do," said Jonette Spurlock from the Center For Siouxland.

Ann Hill, of Sioux City Lion's Club said, "We just enjoy seeing the kid's faces because some of them we do see the actual recipients of the money and knowing that we helped in Sioux City."

The Lions Club wants to thank everyone who contributed for making a difference in the community.
