Plymouth County hog confinement scorched

Firefighters from Merrill, Hinton and Le Mars put out blaze along Impala Avenue

MERRILL, Iowa - Firefighters in Plymouth County, battled a big hog confinement fire Tuesday morning.

Firefighters from Merrill, Hinton and Le Mars responded to that fire, which broke out about 7:30 a.m.

It happened along Impala Avenue, South of County Road C-44 in Merrill.

None of the 2,600 hogs died in the barn blaze.

The cause and origin of that fire, are also still under investigation.
