Friends reflect on victim's life after he died in a suspicious house fire in Cuming County

Remains of Ernie Warnock, 64, found inside home following a fire last weekend

CUMING COUNTY, Nebraska - It is an apparent murder mystery in northeast Nebraska and it all stems from a deadly house fire, we first showed you a week ago.

Saturday evening, friends of the victim are speaking out in interviews, you'll see only on KCAU9 News.

Ernie Warnock's remains were found inside his home, last weekend following a fire.

The house sits in Cuming County-- between Bancroft and Rosalie.

Authorities have called his death "suspicious" and investigators have called his burned out home a "crime scene."

However, they have not yet released a cause of death for the 64-year-old father of two.

Warnock's family and friends are left wondering how he died, but are reflecting on the life of the soft-spoken, caring man.

"He seemed to worry about everybody else all the time, he never complained about anything himself," said friend of 50 years, Tim Springer.

Friends have set up a, Go Fund Me page, to help his daughters with funeral expenses.

The Go Fund Me account is called 'Ernie Warnock Memorial.'
