Fatal crash in Lyon leaves one dead and one with minor injuries

14-year-old driver rolls car after falling asleep at the wheel

Lyon County, Iowa - A fatal crash reported in Lyon county. A Inwood man died in a rollover crash earlier Sunday morning.

A Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on Highway 9, East of Ibex Avenue.

The driver 14-year-old, Ryan Schneidermann, of Inwood told police he was tired from working outside all day and he briefly fell asleep.

The vehicle crossed the center of the road, entered a ditch and struck a field drive.

The car then rolled and landed upside down in the ditch.

The passenger 46-year-old, Bradley Schneidermann, was taken to Rock Rapids Hospital where he later died of his injuries.


The 14-year-old driver suffered minor injuries.
