MAPLETON, Iowa - A child was allegedly abducted in Mapleton, Iowa after the child was reported missing.
Mapleton Police Department say in a release that they received a report of a missing child Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.
They say the child was found and returned home alter that night around 7:30 p.m.
While investigating the incident, they say it was alleged that the child was forced into a vehicle for a short time but was later able to get out and speak with a responsible adult.
The police are continuing to investigate the incident.
Mapleton Police Department believe that there is no current threat to the public.
The child's identity is not being released.
Anyone that sees suspicious activity is asked to contact their local law enforcement.
