SSC Police: Accused wife killer confessed

Slaying took place in Law Enforcement Center parking lot

DAKOTA CITY, Neb. - A man accused of gunning down his wife in the parking lot of South Sioux's police station is now said to have confessed to the crime.

The confession by Bei Sheng Chen is contained in court documents obtained by KCAU 9 news.

Chen is jailed on a $1.25-million bond on a 1st degree murder charge.

In the court documents we've obtained, police say Chen admitted during questioning through an interpreter that he shot his wife twice.

That deadly shooting happening last Wednesday in the Law enforcement Center parking lot.

The documents indicate Chen told police that he and his wife had a heated argument at home. 

He then admits following her to the police station, confronting her when she got out of her car, and ultimately shooting her when she tried to get away from him.

Chen will be back in court next week.

 

Meanwhile, here's a press release from the Dakota County Attorney on Tuesday: 

On September 7, 2017, Bei Sheng Chen was brought before the Dakota County Court for a a hearing to set Bond. At that time, The court set bond at $1,250,000.

On September 11, 2017, Dakota county Attorney, Kim Watson, Filed formal charges against Bei Sheng Chen. Bei Sheng Chen has been charged with Murder in the 1st Degree, a Class 1 or 1A Felony; Domestic Assault in the 1st Degree, a Class 2A Felony; and Use of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, a Class 1C Felony. 

A first appearance in this matter will be held in the Dakota County Courtroom on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.

A criminal complaint contains charges that are merely allegations against a person. Every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
