SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The sight and scent of bacon is back in Siouxland this weekend.

Baconfest 2015 is back!

the sizzling fun kicked off Saturday afternoon at the hard rock hotel and casino.

This is the second year for Baconfest in Sioux City, and organizers say it has already doubled in size.

Proceeds from the event go toward Siouxland's Habitat For Humanity.

The Executive Director of the local chapter says the all the money stays in the community.

"The funds that we raise here at baconfest will go towards building more affordable safe and decent homes and then of course the awareness that Siouxland Habitat for Humanity is in our community," says Katie Roberts, the Executive Director for Siouxland Habitat for Humanity.

Vendors say it's a great way to raise money for the organization, a bacon-y blast for everyone involved.

Roberts says Baconfest will be back next year, and hopes it will be even bigger than this year.

Roberts says they're already hunting for more vendors.
