SIOUX CITY, Iowa - A new app is giving local businesses a unique way to advertise and its users an avenue to support the Siouxland economy.

Qneo was created by Lloyd Lee and Travis Hemmingson of Sioux City. The app, which is free to download, is designed to highlight the unique businesses in our community.

"I've worked in marketing for over 7 years and know how expensive it is for a small business to advertise," said Lee. "I knew we could offer a more cost effective option for those who don't have a big budget."

Only local businesses are allowed to advertise on the app. Once Qneo has 500 users a flat fee of $5.50 will be charged for a business to post a coupon. There is no charge for users.

Three times a day Qneo will send out coupons from different businesses. Users have five hours to save the offers they like, then giving them a week to redeem the coupons.

Thursday night the creators of the app held a launch party at the Snug. The app can already be downloaded on Android, and will soon be available on iPhone.
